ACT! by Sage Premium for Workgroups 2007

We are ACT! Certified Consultants.

So what does it mean to be an ACT Certified Consultant?
It means that we are sanctioned as such by Sage Software, the provider of your ACT! software. If and when you decide to use ACT, you may need our consulting services. We are a reseller of all ACT products, and provide fee-based support with installation, customized implementation and training services. In addition to the ACT! By Sage Software, we resell and support many ACT! add-ons that enhance the productivity of ACT!

ACT Certified Consultants are required to pass product certification tests for all new products and pay an annual fee to maintain such standing. Accordingly, we are independent contractors that have hooked our stars to ACT! by Sage. However, we provide objective and comprehensive consulting services to meet your needs - just ask if we agree with everything Sage says.

IBS consulting services offered for ACT! Applications are listed below:

General Installation and Implementation

With only one user of the ACT! application, it is simple to successfully install or upgrade ACT! for 2006/2007, or ACT! 6.0 (as available.) If on the other hand, the user’s small office has two or more ACT users who want to share the database, we suggest that you consider the assistance of an ACC; this is especially true if you are converting from ACT! 6.0 or earlier versions. IBS has assisted many 2 or 3 user installations with ACT implementation, and we specialize in large installations of up to 50 users.

Database and Layout Design
In most cases, when new users install the ACT! database design and layouts that come with the package, they do not require any coaching. Users simply make an empty copy of the Demo Database (part of ACT! application) and begin entering their data. However, if the user needs expanded information about specific elements of their business, the ACT! database and layouts can be designed to suit those needs as well. To offer extended solutions, IBS has customized several databases and added hundreds of new fields that cover almost any requirement.

Treo, Pocket PC, and Blackberry
ACT! has been designed to easily synch with all of these remote devices. The Treo 700 product is a great tool and easily integrates with ACT! For 2007. And even more useful is the new wireless sync feature available from Companion Link. (Note: this is not supported in ACT! 6.0). To use a Blackberry with ACT, a third party product from Handheld Contact is required.

Synchronization
When workgroups have remote users, IBS strongly recommends that users set up a remote database for each party and synch them with the main database. Since this process is critical in nature but complex to set up, users are encouraged to always call an ACC to help with the process. Because users need this feature to work well, our experience has shown that the synchronization of remote users requires additional expertise. Even your IT rep does not possess the knowledge to do this correctly. Here is a unique opportunity for you to work with IBS to ensure that the job is done right and will perform to all expected specifications.

ACT! Add ons
Ship Rush is a time-saving feature for shipping items to the contacts in your database. One click and the FedEx or UPS shipper is automatically filled in with the ‘From’ and ‘To’ address. Address Grabber (or Resume Grabber or List Grabber) makes it easy to move an address (resume or list) posted on the Web or elsewhere directly to ACT!.

E-mail
One of the best features of the new ACT! for 2007 is its integration with Outlook. When you using this feature you can save the emails in the contact’s history file, which is a great way to manage your email. ACT! has its own email client but we are recommending that all 2007 installations be set to work with Outlook Integration
